Guide

Your Canon, without guesswork.

A compact knowledge base for the first useful moves: build a strong profile, understand Taste DNA, manage privacy, and use social rituals without losing control of what is yours.

Start

Build your first Canon

Claim 10 favorites across at least three categories, rate the ones that matter most, and pin the few that feel definitive. A small Canon should still feel intentional.

  • Use Explore to search by title, artist, creator, or URL.
  • Add custom items when the catalog misses something personal.
  • Set visibility item by item before sharing your profile.

Shape

Make Taste DNA useful

Taste DNA becomes sharper when your ratings, dismissals, imports, and category spread all point in the same direction. Treat it like an evolving portrait, not a score.

  • Add ratings to the favorites that define your taste.
  • Use recommendation feedback when a suggestion is right or wrong.
  • Regenerate after meaningful additions, not after every single item.

Share

Control what people see

CANON is built for public pride without forcing everything public. Your profile, individual items, AI surfaces, and export/delete paths stay under your control.

  • Use Privacy settings before sending your public profile.
  • Review Trust settings to understand AI learning and data controls.
  • Export your data before any major account change.

Play

Use social rituals deliberately

Clash, Taste Match, Gravity, and discovery loops work best when your Canon already has a strong center. Add signal first, then compare.

  • Join Clash after your core categories have enough favorites.
  • Use Taste Match to find overlap and difference, not a verdict.
  • Check weekly prompts when you want a low-friction next claim.
